LUK Kevlar clutch facings

In addition to linings for popular applications, we offer LUK linings, which are created using Kevlar. To be precise, aramid fibers, which are popularly known as kevlar, were used in the production of kevlar linings. As a result of the fact that LUK works with most car manufacturers they produce a great variety of materials. They are very familiar with what material to use in what type of vehicle. One of the materials used for the linings is also B 8060, which is a premium material used as first assembly. Clutches with linings containing Kevlar are already starting to appear on the market, with a lifespan 30% longer than the clutches used so far.

In the facing, kevlar itself is not responsible for the coefficient of friction and is not a friction material, but its presence causes the clutch itself to have increased mechanical resistance. Kevlar itself is used in such products as bulletproof vests and helmets. Thanks to its parameters and the fact that it has very high torsional strength, bending strength, high tensile strength. Kevlar also has very good strength parameters when working at high temperatures. In emergency situations where the clutch works too hard a normal clutch lining could wear out quickly and the clutch could burn out. With a facing using Kevlar, the clutch will withstand even harsh conditions and will not deteriorate.

The main application of LUK Kevlar facings is in sports cars, which are exposed to much heavier working conditions than regular cars.
